My first career was in London working in a commercial art gallery.
My second career was in the world of public museums and galleries.

In 2011 I moved to a house in south west France with a studio. Having spent some years renovating it, I am now painting and drawing full time.
​
During the last six or seven years of painting, no work has been shown publicly. Much has ended up in the wood burning stove in the studio.
This website has been created in case anyone was interested to see some of the paintings, drawings and projects I have been working on.
All the paintings are on paper designed for oil paint and, as very few works are framed, all sizes are approximate.

I never put anything into a picture that I don't actually see when I'm painting a subject. However, I'm not trying to make a copy of the person. I'm trying to relay something of who they are as a physical and emotional presence.
